| Museum Bound. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train near Pinecroft, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2249, #2229, and #2206. All are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 160-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477243. This photo was taken at the Route 483 Bridge. Up to October of 2010, at least, #2249 was in active excursion service with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, as number "501." |
