PRR 2309, EF-25, 1965
Museum Bound. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train near Pinecroft, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2248, #2309, and two other units whose numbers are not visible. All were built by EMD. #2248 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2309 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an 85-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with N-8 caboose #478176. This photo was taken at the Route 483 Bridge. As of October 2015, #2309 was in active revenue service with the Housatonic Railroad Company in Cannan, Connecticut, as number "3601."
