SRS. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during March of 1966. Visible in the foreground are three gondola loads of pre-fabricated sides for new box cars; even then, what used to be made in-house was being out-sourced. Also visible is an obsolete passenger car and several old gondola cars on their way to be scrapped at the PRR's Reclamation Plant. This easterly view taken from the southern end of the Union Street Bridge. |
