| 17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 April 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #9806 and #9644. Both are EF-15A's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each; #9806 was built in 1951, but #9644 was built in 1950. They are pulling a 63-car eastbound coal train under the 17th Street Bridge on their way to the Altoona Yards. The caboose is #477148. Partially visible in the background is the PRR's Test Plant building. |
