Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad locomotive in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 27 October 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #8974, a BS-16M built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in May of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Its crew is in the process of switching cars in the Hollidaysburg Yard, adjacent to the Yard Master's Office at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. Visible on the far right are the venerable water tower and the western end of the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. Partially visible in the far distance is Bald Hill. |
