Battered Bridge
While waiting for an empty grain train to go south from Woodard I noticed that the signal became lit for a northbound move. With that in mind I reached CP 291 just in time to see this train head up the St. Lawrence-sub. Here's the Q192 going through a bridge well known around these parts for its low clearance on the road below; despite the fact that there are numerous warnings, some trucks and buses still hit it. BTW......that's Onondaga Lake in the background.

Tom Beckett General Ah, yes, NY 370, a-k-a Onondaga Lake Pkwy. The bridge clears 10'9"(really 11'9" since NY posts its bridges a foot short), and has flashing lights and signs all the way back to Carousel Mall in Syracuse, and right from the start in Liverpool. The bottom beam has a large, bright yellow panel that covers the whole beam. It gets hit about once a month. Hopefully the 777 lucky number on the unit protected it. 10/26/2016 3:09:20 AM
