This is what is left of the CNW swing span across the Fox River in Oshkosh. It was originally built in 1899. Fortunately, there was some thought about it's historic significance, and part of it was saved. The ends were lopped off and placed here on opposite sides of a small channel off the Fox River in Oshkosh. I personally think it would look better had they tried to tie the two halves together across the top, to actually convey the look that it still bridged water. At least something was saved. |
