| The former SP depot at Globe AZ, is the center of an important copper mining area. As of 1950 there was still a daily passenger train, No.381/382, the "Gila Tomahawk", from Globe to the SP mainline at Bowie, located 120 miles to the southeast. The train was gone by 1955, replaced by bus service. |
