Southern Railway 2005 FLINT RIVER was photographed in New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal about a year before Amtrak took over the operation of the SOUTHERN CRESCENT. This was one of 46 Plan 4140 10-roomette / 6-double-bedroom sleeping cars built by Pullman-Standard for the Southern and five connecting railroads in late 1949. It car became Amtrak 2852 in 1979 and was sold in 1982. |
