PRR 9859, EFP-15, #2 of 2, 1964         
Extra Board. Here is the second of two photos by the Brady Stewart Studios that were taken near Corliss, Pennsylvania, on 3 July 1964. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9859, an EFP-15 built by GM-EMD in July of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower; it was rebuilt in 1965 and survived into the Penn Central era as number "4359." warren evans General PRR. 9859A. EFP-15. Was rebuilt in 1965. using the cab and nose from a retired F3A. Which resulted in 9859 having small numbersboards long version. Then 9859A. was renumbered to 4359. EFP-15, in 1967. During the renumbering and reclassification period between 1-1966. to 1-1968. for the upcoming merger of PC. in 2-2-1968. 8/12/2018 9:43:38 PM
Brad Knapp General The collsion actually occurred on July 2, 1964 so the photo date may have been 7/3/64. Three crewmen were killed: Engineer C.M. Blunde - Columus, OH; Fireman Raymond J. Cook - Carnegie, PA; Head Brakeman E. A. Smith - Newark, OH. The conductor of the train that was rear-ended, Theodore Nally of Steubenville, OH, was injured. 10/17/2022 4:30:21 PM
