| GLVX 18 was part of the consist of a CN local preparing to set out a string of cars (including this one) in the former C&NW yard at Appleton Junction, WI on 16 Feb. '17. The car is owned by Marion Plywood Corp. (est. 1894) and will be spotted on a former Green Bay & Western (GB&W) team track at New London, WI in a day or two. There the logs will be trans-loaded to trucks for the 24-mile trip to Marion, WI. Marion had rail service, courtesy of Chicago & North Western (C&NW), from 1879 to 1982. The reporting mark is based on Great Lakes Veneer, Inc., a subsidary of Marion Plywood Corp. and co-located at its Marion, WI facility. |
