Rare Lashup         
In an unusual arrangement, a GP 38-3 is leading this intermodal train NS 204 past the Spartanburg Depot and toward Linwood, NC. The GP 38-3 was added to keep the hotshot train on time after the original lashup developed engine troubles. As shown by the fellow photographer leaning against the depot, I wasnt the only one interested in catching this rare sight.

Tom Beckett General Interesting consist. What's funny is, I recall Conrail doing this as a matter of routine, putting a four axle leader on a van train with six axle power in the consist.
