This was a device for unloading cars on the Illinois Central Gulf siding at Angie, Louisiana - milepost 84 on the railroad's Bogalusa District - facing the Highway 438 grade crossing. This was previously the Gulf Mobile & Ohio main line between New Orleans and Jackson, Mississippi.

Bernie Feltman General With something like this, any track could be turned into an "industry" siding. Pull a few ties, dig out under the track and slide the "catch box" under the track and secure. Actually brilliant if you think about it 3/20/2017 8:33:47 AM
