CRIP GP38-2 #4315 - Rock Island  Contributor's Pick!       
Built by EMD in September of 1976, this unit came with the new baby blue & white paint scheme adopted in 1975. Unfortunately, after Rock Island service, this unit was bounced around - first MP 2253, next UP 2253, renumbered UP 753, then GMTX 2125. Quite a boomer loco! Michael A. Tedesco slide

Tom Beckett General Note also that it is named for long time Trains editor David P Morgan. This line is now part of the UP system, the Golden State route which connected with SP at Tucumcari NM, so that unit may not have gotten all that far from home in the end. 6/10/2017 3:41:22 AM
