| Illinois Central empty Evanston, MS to Memphis, TN coal train UEVME-11 has just done a crew change at the small depot in Evanston, MS. The Mississippi Export Railroad crew handed the train off to an Illinois Central crew who will take the train to Jackson, MS. For a brief period in 1995 the Victor J. Daniel Electric Generating Plant near Escatawpa, MS did a test burn of Powder River coal with Burlington Northern power running deep into a part of the world where BN power was not common. This train sports BN C30-7 5028, BN C30-7 5524, BN C30-7 5585, and BN SD40-2 7840 leading a unit train of empty DEGX coal hoppers. The IC crew was quite friendly. One of the crew members is seen stepping out of the cab to wish us a safe trip back home! |
