Beautiful photo the Southern Pacific Red Line interurban train headed up by #359. A note on the back states this is the Portland to Albany line. The front of the train is marked the East Side local that would originate at Union Station in Portland, head east and then circle and merge with the West Line to head south to Albany and beyond. On October 5, 1929, the final runs took place on the Eastside line. The former ROW is now used by the Willamette Shores Trolley under the auspices of the Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society. Exact date and location are unknown. From the Ken Kidder collection. |
