| This is the KCS bridge over the Illinois River just north of Watts. Its an easy shot from the adjacent US 59 bridge, as I have done here. During the record flooding of May 2017, water was up to the bottom beam, and about 1/2 mile of track was washed out. On a quiet night, I can hear northbound trains working into Siloam Springs as they come off the bridge, which is about six miles from my house. |
