FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in August of 1948. Photo Caption: "2-10-0, Class I-1, after passing center of Horseshoe Curve on downgrade. Eastbound train." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4393, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during February of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in April of 1942, and retired in August of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. This photo comes from a B&W slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa.
