| Southern Railway E8A 6905 was being watered on the northbound CRESCENT at Meridian, Mississippi while on a 6-month lease to Amtrak. The locomotive was built in September 1951 as the 2928, and it was modified with dynamic brakes and roof-mounted air tanks in 1958. It was renumbered 6905 in 1972, was leased to Amtrak on 1 February 1979, and was shipped to Precision National Corp. on 3 November 1979. |
