One of the Vermont Rail System's current passenger cars, this coach was once part of the commuter fleet of the Central Railroad of New Jersey. Built in 1930 by Pullman, this car was rebuilt with a homemade cab car on one end in the late 1960s with the beginning of CNJ passenger operations into the PRR's Newark Penn Station, the Aldene Plan closing the Jersey City passenger terminal. The Green Mountain Railroad would acquire the car from New Jersey Transit in 1984. Today the Vermont Rail System operates this car in excursion service across the Green Mountain State, the cab car end restored to full operation. |
