| Here is an original photo left in its sepia color of the 1909 Alco-Brooks 4-6-2 Pacific #421. Originally it carried the number CIL 401 but was renumbered in 1911 to CIL #421. Note on the back states that it is heading up train 6. Specs - serial #46235, class K-3, 73" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine weight of 205,000 lb, tractive effort of 31,559 lb. The class was later superheated and eventually all three in the class were off the roster by 1947. CIL #421 was retired on 10/4/1041. No photographer listed. |
