Beautiful example of a Baldwin 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive delivered to the Chicago & North Western in September of 1929, serial #61060. Specs - class H, 76" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 498,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,226 lb. A major rebuild on the loco was completed on November 28, 1947 and it was then reclassified as H-1. Retirement came on May 12, 1953. Unknown photographer |
