Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken during a railfan excursion that's paused at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, on 23 May 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8259, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company during August of 1916 and retired in February of 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. Many thanks to Mr. Jim Boylan for correctly identifying this location. Roy Healey Collection; #9 of 12. |
