PRR Q-2 "Duplex" on Horseshoe Curve, c. 1945
Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a Pennsylvania Railroad Q-2 (4-4-6-4) "Duplex" rounding the Horseshoe Curve on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1945. Perhaps it's the one mentioned in Mr. Gorman's article, and perhaps that's my Grandfather ~ Isaac Milton Burket ~ in the engineman's seat! Partially visible on the right is PRR automobile carrier #63298. The photographer's name, the locomotive's road number, and the exact date are not recorded.
