The Poo-Poo Choo-Choo  Contributor's Pick!
New Jersey is really good at producing garbage. So much so that NS has their own dedicated daily train to take out the trash. It's earned a handful of nick names. Garbage Express, The Stink and the Poo-Poo Choo-Choo are amongst some of the ones that stand out. Pictured here is an endangered standard cab SD70 leading the eastbound empty portion of this trash turn arriving at the west end of Oak Island Yard as it crosses Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. Not to far from here the train will come to a stop after taking headroom on the P&H to shove down towards the Northeast Corridor at CP-Stock until a Conrail crew is ready to handle the train for delivery to South Kearny.
