Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken in Morris Park, New York, c. 1952. Shown here (L to R) are Long Island Rail Road engines #114 and #22, and a GE "44-Tonner" diesel locomotive. #114 is an H-10S (2-8-0) built by the Lima Locomotive Works for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "8222" during October of 1915; it's deadlined due to serious firebox issues. #22 is a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata during January of 1924. According to Mr. Mike Woodruff, "The GE 44-tonner is LI 400, blt 12/50, GE serial 30854, sold 11/63 to the Black River & Western, later (~1967) went to the Valley RR in Connecticut." #7 of 11. |
