Got up early the next morning to hit the road. Unfortunately for us, there happens to be a giant snow storm headed our way and is supposed to dump about 8 inches of snow on Indy. To avoid running into the heart of the storm, we have to cut north and then go west when we get up to US 24 in Logansport. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was very good, and by that point it had already started to snow. But by the time we got north of I465, there was barely any snow on the ground. I was going to take advantage of this detour to see a couple of trains, so first we cut over to US 35 in Kokomo and followed U.S. Rail north and first got some photos of GMTX 412 in Lincoln. This unit has been sitting here dead for about 2 years now, and they keep it in suprisingly good shape. Hopefully they get it moving again though soon! |
