"Modern Railroads," Page 47, 1956          
Here is a photo from a reprint of the November 1956 issue of "Modern Railroads" magazine, page 47. Photo Caption: "Conway Yard will cut freight schedules east and west up to 24 hours; is expected to return some $10 million a year to Pennsy in operating savings." From this perspective, trains from the West arrive at the top of the photo and depart for the East at the bottom. A portion of the Allegheny River is visible at the lower left, while the venerable Roundhouse is visible at the upper right.
