| The city of Reno undertook a public works project to dig a 36 foot deep trench through the city to eliminate the traffic congestion caused by on-street running. The Amtrak Station for Reno is down in the trench. The operating crew warned passengers not to venture out of the trench because they could see their train leave without them. |
