Extra Board. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of ex-Pennsylvania Railroad observation car named "Samuel Rea" that was built by Pullman-Standard during 1949. It honors Mr. Samuel Rea (21 September 1855-24 March 1929) who was born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and who served as the Pennsy's ninth president from 1913 to 1925. The world's largest railroad car building and repair facility ~ namely, the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg ~ was named in his honor. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |
