Nickel Plate Road 470  Contributor's Pick!       
The Nickel Plate Road was the nickname of the New York, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad, which merged with Norfolk Southern in 1964. This caboose was built 2 years prior to the merger and continued to serve on the Norfolk & Western until the 1980s, when with the end of caboose service it was donated to the museum.
