Here is a postal card entitled "Spirit of St. Louis." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "Pennsylvania Railroad train No. 31, 'Spirit of St. Louis,' backs into Union Station of its namesake city after the run from New York City. Locomotives on this day, October 9, 1965, are an E-8, an E-7B, and an E-7." Photo by David Shay. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5894, #5858-B, and another unit whose number is not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5894 is an EP-22 built in March of 1951 and rated at 2,250 horsepower, while #5858-B is an EP-20 built in february of 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower.
