Aftdr we left Wellsboro we heard the Chicago Dispatch give permission to CFE 05 to proceed from Warsaw to Hamler. Hoping that it would actually be a CFE engine leading, we went down to the CFE and followed the line pretty cmosely once we got out of Plymouth. We got through the small community of Bourbon, IN and still didnt see it. Then about 5 miles out of Bourbon and then the train passed us. Being as dark as it was te couldnt tell what the leader was. What we did know is it was moving very quickly! We barely got back into Bourbon before it got there. Sadly, it was the CSX Hamler Grain train with CSX 69 leading a CSX GEVO. I tried a time lapse of it but it didnt work the best. This would be the final train my dad and I caught on our 7 day trip. An unbelievable 51 trains were caught today, which brings the final$trip total to 239 trains. While it was all fun, all good things must come to an end. Tonight we go home. Was a very fantastic trip! Lots of trains and fun times! Overall we saw all of the Super 7 railways, 2 heritafe units, some short lines, and lots of unrepainted fallen flags! Really enjoyed my first time! Hope to do it again next year! |
