| A CN local passes Milepost 214 and approaches N. State St. as it heads northeast via former C&NW rails along the backside of College Ave. at Appleton, WI on 14 Oct. '18. There are two milepost markers, a newer one on a fence post next to the telephone pole, and an older one halfway up the telephone pole. The large brick building partially visible above the locomotive is Good Company, a restaurant established in 1980. The building was built between 1895 and '01 by the Marshall Paper Co., a.k.a. Marshall Bros. Wholesale Paper or Marshall Bros. Paper. The company was founded in '93 by Simon and Samuel G. Marshall, father and son. Train was headed for Little Chute and Kaukauna. |
