Back in the 70s and early 80s when per diem cars were common, it was not unusual to see car types you would not expect from the likes of roads like Norwood & St Lawrence, or Middletown & New Jersey, who had car fleets disproportionate to the size of the operation. Providence & Worcester falls into that category-what would a short line need with auto racks?? Except that P&W does actually serve a large auto unloading facility in Rhode Island. So now it makes sense. This car is northbound on NS. |
