Here is the illustration on page vi of the "Pennsylvania Railroad Altoona Machine Shops Construction Number List: 1866-1904." It was compiled by Joseph D. Lovell, and published by the Library Of American Transportation during 1984. Partial Caption: "In this view looking East, the Altoona Machine Shop complex is seen at right. The Pennsylvania Railroad's mainline cuts through the center of the scene, while the small train shed of the Altoona Passenger Station is seen at left. The era of this photograph is probably in the 1890's." The Station's train shed is adjacent to the Logan House, located near the intersection of 11th Avenue & 12th Street. |
