| GTW 6226 can be seen pulling upgrade from the Catalyst Paper mill located along the Wisconsin River in Biron. Not to be confused with Byron or Byron Hill along the former Soo Line (Wisconsin Central), Biron is located along the former Green Bay and Western route between Plover and Wisconsin Rapids. Catalyst Paper has what has become typical of most large mills. It has changed hands numerous times in the last couple decades. Most recently, since this photo was taken, the mill has been sold to the Hong Kong based Nine Dragons and is now called ND Paper, Biron. Nine Dragons acquired two mills from Catalyst in 2018 and will be investing a great deal of money into the plants. The Biron mill will be getting a $189 million investment. |
