PRR 7974, H-10S, 1953         
Young. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Andrew D. Young that was taken at the 59th Street Yard in Chicago, Illinois, in 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7974, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8974" during September of 1913, renumbered "7974" in 1917, and retired in 1955. "Fill 'er up, Mack!" Partially visible at the left is PRR engine #9528, an EF-15 built by GM-EMD in July of 1948 and retired in July of 1965.
