NS southbound coming out of McGregor siding.
Coming out of the spring switch at McGregor siding in York, an NS southbound gets it rolling towards Meridian. To my left is the former BN interchange track. Before abandonment in 1992, BN would operate from Amory-Columbus, MS where it would operate from Columbus to Boligee, AL where it would take a left onto the AGS south end and run to York where it would get on its tracks at York. The railroad met its demise after a loss in customers, expenses for bridges and various "flood locations", as well as there was already a pre-existing route BN had to Mobile via Columbus straight through Boligee, down to Demopolis. York was also home to the Sumter and Choctaw railway which bit the dust by 1986.
