Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken from the 9th Street Footbridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1952. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8965, a BS-24M built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in November of 1951, rated at 2,400 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Visible in the background are several mail and passenger cars, marshalled for possible service at the Altoona Station (not visible to the left). Fresh produce team tracks are beyond them (to the right). |
