Coal Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Charles E. Spragg that was taken at Broadway Station in Camden, New Jersey, on 27 December 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2897, an H-9S built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during November of 1910, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-8SB, rebuilt as an H-9S in August of 1923, and retired in October of 1957 after 47 years of faithful service. |
