Here is page six of a six-page article by David P. Morgan entitled "The Lima Story:2 ~ Blueprint Locomotives." It was published originally in the March 1952 issue of "Trains & Travel" magazine, page 23. Partial Caption: "When the Lima Locomotive Works held a postwar open-house day for railfans, display power included (from front to rear of shop): PRR K-4 No. 3847 equipped with rotary cam poppet valves; [and] PRR J-1 class 2-10-4." Engine #3847 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1923 and retired in November of 1953. |
