Fine example of a rebuild done by the Northern Pacific shops in Brainerd, MN in the late 1920's. The shops used a T class 2-6-2 built in 1906 by Alco-Brooks and superheated it along with other changes to improve tractive effort. New specs -reclassified as T-1, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 208,500 lb, tractive effort of 34,926 lb. No photographer listed for the photo. |
