| Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 16 August 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6170, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during September of 1944 and retired in April of 1958 after just 14 years of revenue service. Much like its coal-fired brethern pictured here, #6170 has been "mothballed" pending recall orders. ("LouisFols"; #7 of 21) |
