| Here is a photo via Jim Snyder, Jr., that was taken of Frankstown, Pennsylvania, sometime in the 1920's. Notable here (B to T) are the Pennsylvania Railroad's water tower, an actual train departing for Petersburg on the H&P line, Tower F, and the Eastbound Classification Yard. The Eastbound and Westbound Yards were constructed in 1902-1903, and were built over the old Pennsylvania Mainline Canal. US Route 22 ~ the "William Penn Highway" ~ bisects the town: East to Huntingdon toward the bottom, West to Hollidaysburg toward the top. (#6,300) |
