By this time, Dereco was a memory, a holding company created to separate the EL and D&H financial risk from the N&W, and had been dissolved shortly before Conrail was created. NW, however, did have a strong presence on the D&H, and it was not uncommon in those days to see trains with a large number of NW units. One of them is northbound here, meeting a D&H train. I did not take the photo-my friend Jerry, whose parents had a farm in Worcester, took it, so Im not sure of the location, but East Worcester is a strong possibility. |
