The IR 200, as the four car IR 100 and its intercity counterpart IC 200, is characterized by a variant of the tilting technology, called WAKO (passive roll compensation). In contrast to active tilting technology, which allows a tilt of up to 8°, here it is only 2°. The WAKO is more fail-safe due to the lower technical complexity of the system. With the roll compensation, depending on the elevation, curves can be traversed approx. 9 to 15 percent faster. |
