A CN unit train of autoracks parallels Harrison St. as it heads northeast at the south end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI, on 18 Jun. '20. Train had two locomotives, CN 3178 pulling and CN 3115 mid-train. A remnant of the former C&NW main line runs parallel to the left. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible in the background to the left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. The W. Bell St. overpass can be seen in the background. The pale yellow silo beyond that belongs to American Colloid Co., 901 Acco Ave., an active rail customer. |
