Portraits 2. Here is a steam locomotive portrait by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, on 17 August 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4371, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during January of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in March of 1943, and retired in December of 1957 after 34 years of faithful service. Looks to me like it's on its way to the Recycling Center . . . alas. (#22 of 36) |
