Portraits 3. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via Charles E. Winters that was taken at the Passenger Station in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 9 April 1949. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3847 and another locomotive whose number is not recorded. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" locomotives. #3847 was built in Juniata during April of 1923, rebuilt by Lima with rotary cam poppet valves in 1939, and retired in November of 1953 after 30 years of faithful service.
